Improving Vocational Services for Justice-Involved Youth with Disabilities in New York State
01:00 PM - 03:00 PM Eastern
- Matt Saleh
- LaWanda Cook
On Wednesday, November 13th from 1:00-3:00 PM EST, Cornell University's Yang-Tan Institute on Employment and Disability will be hosting a webinar titled "Improving Vocational Services for Justice-Involved Youth with Disabilities in New York State." The webinar, hosted by Dr. Matthew Saleh and Dr. LaWanda Cook, will outline strategies for serving justice-involved populations in New York State (NYS). Justice-involved youth with disabilities tend to benefit from vocational rehabilitation (VR) and Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) at lower rates than their peers who aren’t justice involved. This session will focus on specific strategies relevant to NYS and its local areas, including efforts around resource mapping, interagency collaboration, and centering youth and families. Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) credits will be available through this session.
